Thirteen Reasons Why
“Thirteen reasons why” – the novel of American writer Jay Esher, published in 2007. The book describes the story of a schoolgirl, who, brought to despair by betrayal and bullying, commits suicide. She records thirteen reasons in an audio diary that was sent to her friend two weeks after her death. It’s quite a peculiar book. It tells about a guy who once finds on the threshold of his house a box with cassettes, which recorded the voice of the girl who committed suicide with 13 stories, which became decisive in her life. The main character listens to these records and as if again dipped into the recent past and learns a lot about Hannah Baker and his classmates. She blames others who had no idea that she was depressed. Hannah Baker’s death story begins with a single hearing that became the basis for a snowball that grew to a snowball and that led to her suicide. Hanna wrote 13 stories about 13 people, which caused her death. And I sent these stories to these same people.
