The Bluest Eye
“The Bluest Eye” – the book written by afro-american writer, winner of the Nobel Prize in literature T. Morrison. A small novel tells the story of the fate of an African-American girl who, because of the discrimination that reigned in America in the 1940s (namely, this period is depicted in the work), considers herself ugly, and therefore dreams of the blue eyes typical for ordinary European girls. The novel is based on the theme of racism and the fact that all people should be equal regardless of the skin colour, nation or religion. The book has a detailed description of the “dirty” aspects of life, the achievement of this or a lack of literature, everyone decides for himself.
The problems of African Americans, of course, are very far from us, but the motives of human actions do not depend on the race, so the book is very universal.
