Fahrenheit 451

“Fahrenheit 451” – science fiction novel-anti-Utopia Ray Bradbury, published in 1953.
The novel describes a society that relies on mass culture and consumer thinking, in which all books that make you think about life are subject to burning; keeping books is a crime; and people who are able to think critically, are outlawed. The protagonist of the novel, Guy Montag, works as a “fireman” (which in the novel means burning books), being sure that he is doing his job “for the benefit of humanity”. But soon he is disappointed in the ideals of the society of which he is a part, becomes an outcast and joins a small underground group of marginalized people whose advocates are learning the texts of books in order to save them for descendants.
